Swiss Bodies Support Korea's All Measures for Self-Defense

Pyongyang, May 9 (KCNA) -- The Swiss Preparatory Committee for Gathering 2017-Praise to the Great Persons of Mt Paektu, the Switzerland-Korea Committee and the Swiss Group for the Study of the Juche Idea made public a joint statement on May 1 in support of the statement issued by a spokesman for the DPRK Foreign Ministry to clarify the fixed will of the Korean army and people to reliably defend the peace and stability of the Korean peninsula and the world.

The joint statement said:

The standoff between the DPRK and the U.S. has lasted for over 50 years, but the U.S. moves for aggression on the DPRK have now reached the zenith as never before.

The present acute situation on the Korean peninsula proves once again that the U.S. is just the flag-bearer in invasion and war.

If the DPRK hadn't had access to nuclear weapons, the U.S. would have unhesitatingly conducted brutal acts of aggression against the DPRK as it did against other countries.

The present confrontation between the two countries has proved again the immutable truth that one should have strong power if one wants to survive the fierce storm of history with neither backup nor sympathies from anyone.

Now that the U.S. pursues the new policy toward the DPRK billed "maximum pressure and engagement", the DPRK will step up the building up of nuclear deterrent at the highest speed.

The DPRK's steps to beef up its nuclear forces will be taken in succession anytime and anywhere as determined by its supreme leadership.
