Campaign for Increased Production Brisk in DPRK
Pyongyang, May 9 (KCNA) -- The working classes in the DPRK are putting spurs to their struggle to carry out the first half-yearly and yearly quotas ahead of schedule this year, a year of key importance in implementing the five-year strategy for national economic development.

In April, the Ko Kyong Chan-led Hero Workteam of the April 5 Pit at the Kumgol Mine under the Komdok Mining Complex carried out its national economic plan for this year by 101.5 percent and was honored with a congratulatory message sent by respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un.

A campaign for creating Mallima speed is also gaining momentum in the Musan Mining Complex, a leading iron ore producer in the country.

According to an official concerned, more than 10 workteams of the complex surpassed their first half-yearly quotas as of April 30, thus producing 100,000 more tons of iron ore, as compared with the same period of last year.

Workers of the Thermal Power Plant Construction Complex fulfilled their national economic plan for the first half of this year.

In the field of textile industry, more than 80 workers carried out their yearly economic plan and over 430 workers the first-half yearly plan.
