The festival on the theme of "Juche-based Architecture Improving by Dint of Self-Development" will showcase more than 260 architecture designs, 260 finishing building materials and furniture, 20 IT-based design programs and 30-odd kinds of construction equipment and tools selected in provincial festivals and hear more than 250 scientific papers dealing with construction.

An opening ceremony took place at the Sci-Tech Complex on Tuesday.

Attending it were O Su Yong, vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials concerned, architects, technicians, teachers and researchers.
