Rodong Sinmun Hits at Japan's Scheme for Overseas Expansion
Pyongyang, May 14 (KCNA) -- The Japanese prime minister told, at an event recently held to mark the 70th enforcement anniversary of the constitution, that it is needed to amend the current constitution as the security environment had changed because of the DPRK's nuclear and missile development.

Meanwhile, Japan's "Self-Defense Forces" launched a joint military drill with the U.S., Britain and France in the territorial waters of Japan and the Pacific.

Commenting on the facts, Rodong Sinmun says it is a revelation of Japan's sinister scheme to continue aggravate the regional situation, pursuant to the aggression war moves of its American master, and shake off the yoke of a defeated country and realize its overseas expansion ambition.

The Japanese reactionaries have long employed all sorts of sleight of hand to retrogressively revive the constitution, with an object to retake the rights of belligerency and participation in a war and make Japan a "normal state" capable of going to war, the daily notes, adding:

What the Japanese reactionaries seek in the retrogressive revision of the constitution is to turn the SDF into the army in the past when Japan invaded other countries with the wild daydream of "Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere" and thus pave the road to overseas expansion.

Through the joint military exercises Japan also seeks a sinister political aim to describe itself as a normal state which can carry out a collective military action with its enemy states in the Second World War.

The DPRK is the first target of Japan in realizing its reinvasion ambition.

Japan can never be a full-fledged member state of the international community through the amendment to the constitution and military drills. It would be well advised not to forget the lesson of history but to honestly reflect on its past crimes.
