Pyongyang, May 20 (KCNA) -- Big efforts have been paid to improving educational conditions and environment in different parts of the DPRK this year in which the universal 12-year compulsory education is enforced on a nation-wide scale. Pyongyang City takes the lead in it, pushing ahead with the projects to reconstruct schools and put education on an IT and modern basis. Due measures have been taken to solve problems arising in building or rebuilding schools in districts and counties after a standard design. It has also been pushed forward in South Hwanghae Province to supply educational facilities to schools. Now, hundreds of schools have subscribed in the state-run network. North Hwanghae Province is speeding up the construction of schools by fully supplying necessary building materials and manpower. And South Phyongan Province has turned a number of classrooms into multi-functional ones, while constructing tens of schools. The same is true of Jagang, North Phyongan, North and South Hamgyong and Kangwon provinces and Nampho and Rason cities. Ministries and national institutions, including the Ministry of Machine-building Industry, Ministry of Land and Maritime Transport and Ministry of Chemical Industry, pay deep attention to producing and supplying experimental apparatuses, reagents and teaching aids. |
