Spokesman for Federation of Koreans in U.S. Demands U.S. Apologize to S. Korean People
Pyongyang, May 20 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the Federation of Koreans in the U.S. Thursday issued a statement on the 37th anniversary of the Kwangju Popular Uprising in south Korea.

The uprising was a fierce struggle for democracy, waged by citizens of Kwangju City and South Jolla Province in south Korea, to oust traitors Chun Doo Hwan and Roh Tae Woo and get the "martial law" repealed, statement said, adding:

On Dec. 12, 1979, Chun and Rho took power by mobilizing military gangsters, the Dec. 12 army purge coup which caused the outbreak of the above-said uprising.

The traitors hurled armed hooligans into mercilessly massacring citizens of the city and province for ten days.

The U.S. was behind this bloody holocaust, it pointed out, and said:

According to data of the U.S. Department of State, the U.S. orchestrated the army purge coup of Chun and Roh and cooperated with them in the massacre.

The U.S. should take the responsibility for backing the military fascist gangsters and instigating them to quench the south Korean people's demand for a democratic and peace-loving "government" and set up a dictatorial junta.

The Trump administration has to sincerely apologize to all the south Korean people including the inhabitants of Kwangju and South Jolla Province, facing up to the historical truth.
