The DPRK side informed the EU side of its stand on relations with it and emphasized that it is a priority for settling the issue of the Korean peninsula and defusing tension to terminate the U.S. nuclear threat and hostile policy toward the DPRK.

The EU side estimated the DPRK putting all-out efforts into implementing the five-year strategy for the country's economic development, stressing the principled stand of EU to develop economic relations with the DPRK.

And it said that the EU maintains the principle of settling all disputes through dialogues and negotiations, evincing the efforts to contribute to the peaceful settlement of the Korean peninsula issue.

Kim Son Kyong also met Nirj Deva, chairman of the Delegation for Relations with Korean Peninsula of the European Parliament, in Brussels.

The chairman said that they are well aware of lots of achievements made by the Korean people through active economic development based on science and technology, adding an issue of priority importance in defusing tension on the peninsula is to replace the armistice agreement with a peace pact.
