The tournament takes place on the occasion of the 71st anniversary of the foundation of the Korean Children's Union.

At least 350 football players (boys and girls) who proved successful at city and county games and provincial preliminaries will play league matches and semifinals. And the finals will be held at the Songdowon International Children's Camp.
