Meeting for Promotion of Japan-Korea Friendship Held in Japan
Pyongyang, May 28 (KCNA) -- A meeting for promotion of Japan-Korea friendship took place in Kyoto of Japan on May 20 in celebration of the 105th birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung.

Attending it were Takashi Ishida, former chairman of the Kyoto Prefectural Assembly who is executive chairman of the meeting for Japan-Korea friendship in celebration of the 105th birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung and advisor to the Japan-Korea Friendship Kyoto Net for Promotion of Cultural, Scientific and Civic Exchange, and other Japanese personages and Kim Sang Il, chairman of the Kyoto Prefectural Headquarters of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon), and Koreans in Japan.

At the meeting Raitei Arima, who visited the DPRK as the honorary head of a Japanese Buddhist delegation in October last year, gave a lecture on the subject of "What I saw in the DPRK". He said he wanted to contribute to the normalization of the Japan-DPRK relations by striving to promote the exchange of visits between the two countries.

Then followed an art performance and a reception.

The participants stressed the need to make joint efforts to promote the friendship between the Korean and Japanese peoples, true to the behests of President Kim Il Sung.
