The province has pushed ahead with the construction of tree nurseries, production of saplings, tree-planting and forest-fire prevention, while repairing banks along the scores of medium and small streams, dredging their beds and creating bank-protecting forests to prevent flood damage.

It also finished such projects as repair of seawalls, land realignment, field terracing and clean-up of waterways in several areas to create favorable conditions for agricultural production.

Road pavement and repair of bridges, culverts, revetments and sidewalks are being carried on to face-lift Haeju City, provincial seat, and county seats.

In particular, Kangryong County finished the improvement of the Kangryong Stream, extension of the width of sidewalks in its seat and repair of revetment and is building more than 60 dwelling houses and 4 km-long standard highroad.

Haeju City concentrates big efforts on the construction of an industrial waste water treatment ground and road administration.

And its streets were decorated with electric lights in a peculiar way to add beauty to the port city.
