The symposium, under the theme "Mallima speed movement, technology of greenhouse vegetable seed production and standardization of plant-care", will include presentation of successes and experience gained in research and production of greenhouse vegetables, workshops, lectures and visit to different units.

Present at the opening ceremony were Kwak Pom Gi, vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Kye Yong Sam, director of the Institute of Agricultural Science, officials concerned, scientists, technicians and gardeners of greenhouse vegetable production units and science research institutes.

Ko In Ho, vice-premier and minister of Agriculture, made an opening address.

The symposium will last till June 16.
