Speakers at the meeting said the brilliant victory in the Pochonbo battle commanded by President Kim Il Sung was a historic event that dealt a irrevocable heavy military and political blow at the Japanese imperialist aggressors and gave great hope for the country's liberation to the Korean people.

They noted that the Monument to the Victorious Battle of Pochonbo was built as an edifice for education in the revolutionary traditions and the Juche revolutionary cause of Songun started in Mt Paektu had made a victorious advance under the guidance of leader Kim Jong Il intensely loyal to the idea and cause of the President.
