At 10 p.m. of June 4, Juche 26 (1937), the main force of the Korean People's Revolutionary Army (KPRA) assaulted the enemy's administrative centers like police substation, sub-county office, post office, forest conservation office and fire hall in Pochonbo at a signal of a gunshot fired by the President. All the enemy's administrative organs were in flames, which resembled a gigantic torch.

The flames of Pochonbo, which instilled into the Korean people the hope for national restoration, were a manifestation of the national spirit that no enemy can avoid its ruin if it dared provoke Korea, a revelation of national dignity that no one can enslave the Korean nation and a declaration of the President's strong will that the victory is sure to come when the Korean nation is firmly united against the enemy.

This great truth has been steadily proved along with the development of the Korean revolution.

The Korean people accomplished the cause of national liberation by defeating the Japanese imperialists in 1945 and defeated the armed invasion upon the young DPRK made by the U.S. imperialists in the 1950s.

They inflicted shameful defeats upon the U.S. imperialists whenever the latter had made provocations like the Pueblo incident, Panmunjom incident and large spy plane EC-121 incident against the DPRK. And they emerged victorious in the nuclear confrontation with the U.S. imperialists in the 1990s.

Leader Kim Jong Il had crushed the imperialists' moves against socialism with his matchless courage and grit that encounter the enemy's dagger with sword and enemy's rifle with gun.

Now, the spirit of the DPRK is being fully demonstrated all over the world thanks to the Songun leadership of respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un who is reliably carrying forward the revolutionary cause of the great leaders.

Last year alone, the respected supreme leader wisely led the first H-bomb test, a series of test-fires of various striking means and the explosion test of nuclear warhead to a success, thus bolstering up the nuclear force at a high speed.

And the DPRK emerged as a nuclear power in the East, a leading rocket power in Asia through continuous successful test-fires of strategic weapons this year.

Indeed, the flames of Pochonbo rise higher in the DPRK, demonstrating the strong determination of the Songun brilliant commander that never pardons anyone who dares hurt the dignity of the Korean nation.
