Officials of Women's Union Make Study Tour of Revolutionary Battle Sites in Area of Mt Paektu
Samjiyon, June 6 (KCNA) -- Officials of the women's union from across the country made a study tour of the revolutionary battle sites in the area of Mt Paektu from June 1 to 6 on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the victorious Pochonbo battle commanded by President Kim Il Sung.

Before the study tour, they laid bouquets and flowers before the statue of President Kim Il Sung holding at the Monument to the Victorious Battle of Pochonbo before paying tribute to them.

Upon arriving at Pochonbo, the members of the expedition group were briefed about it before the statue of the President and looked round the command post of the Pochonbo battle, the post office, the sub-county office, the fire station and other places.

After climbing Mt Paektu, they vowed to demonstrate revolutionary stamina as Korean women in the all-out general offensive for the Conference of Mallima Frontrunners, reciting the long epic "Mt Paektu" and other poems.

Visiting the birthplace of leader Kim Jong Il in the Paektusan Secret Camp, they recollected his revolutionary history.

They went round the Samjiyon Grand Monument, the groups of subsidiary theme sculptures and the revolutionary relics on the shore of Lake Samji.

After visiting the Paektusan Hero Youth Power Station, they looked round the Sinsadong Revolutionary Battle Site where the President did political work among the people, and the Monument to the Victorious Battle in the Musan Area.

At the Rimyongsu Revolutionary Site, they grasped the exploits of Kim Jong Il who paved the way for the study tour of the revolutionary battle sites in the area of Mt Paektu and made the revolutionary traditions of Mt Paektu shine as eternal foundation of the Party and the revolution.

At the Chongbong and Konchang bivouacs, they looked round the site of headquarters, the site of campfire and slogan-bearing trees.

During their study tour, they did diverse political and cultural work.
