Samjiyon, June 7 (KCNA) -- Party information workers making study tour of revolutionary battle sites in the area of Mt Paektu climbed its top on June 6. Atop Mt Paektu, they recollected the distress-torn resistance history of President Kim Il Sung and the revolutionary career of leader Kim Jong Il. They visited Kim Jong Il's birthplace in the Paektusan Secret Camp Wednesday. They placed bouquets at the mosaic of the three commanders of Mt Paektu there and paid tribute to them. In front of the monument inscribed with the poem of the President dedicated to the birthday of the leader, they were briefed on it before looking round the secret camp. They also visited the log cabin used by the headquarters and grasped the feats the President performed by turning this place into a strategic base of the Korean revolution in the latter half of the 1930s and bringing about a great surge in the overall anti-Japanese national liberation struggle. Seeing the historic relics inside the birthplace of the secret camp, they felt keenly again that thanks to this birthplace, the Korean army and people could advance along the road of victory, being blessed with illustrious leaders. They called at the Sajabong secret camp, where they looked round the log cabin of the headquarters, the printing house, site for guerrillas, site of campfire, slogan-bearing trees, etc. They had a poem-reciting meeting and a contest in chorus singing of revolutionary songs. Earlier, they toured the secret camps on Mountains Sono and Kom. |
