Rodong Sinmun Lays Bare Aggressive Nature of U.S. Policy toward DPRK

Pyongyang, June 9 (KCNA) -- Recently the U.S. Carl Vinson and Ronald Reagan nuclear carrier strike groups staged joint military exercises in the East Sea of Korea. It is the first time that the two nuclear carrier strike groups were involved in the exercises at the same time. The U.S. overtly trumpeted that this was a strong warning to the DPRK. Commenting on the fact, Rodong Sinmun Friday says that the U.S. seeks to put its dangerous scenario for military attack on the DPRK into practice. The U.S. is wielding an olive branch symbolic of peace under the cloak of diplomatic solution but it is nothing but a fake, the daily notes, and goes on: The aggressive nature of the new policy toward the DPRK, adopted by the Trump administration, has been totally brought to light. As any sanctions, pressure and military blackmail against the DPRK do not work on the DPRK, the U.S. is turning to pre-emptive attack, the last resort. The "4-point keynote" of the Trump administration's new DPRK policy is an arrant and deceptive guile, and its true essence is to ignite a nuclear war by sending such strategic assets as nuclear carrier strike groups to south Korea and its surrounding waters. The U.S. attains its aggressive aims by flailing a club after slackening the opponent's vigilance, using diplomatic solution as bait. This is a cynical ploy employed by the U.S. from long ago. The U.S. should know clearly that the DPRK has never begged peace from anyone but protected the dignity of the country and sovereignty of the nation and peace by its own strength. We do not pin any hope on the diplomatic solution and peace touted by the U.S. |
