Last year, South Hamgyong Province carried out the project for filling earth of 100,000 cubic meters and excavating bedrock and earth of 400,000 cubic meters to improve roads extending 80-odd kilometers.

And Machon Pass Tunnel was completed by the devoted efforts of the residents in North and South Hamgyong provinces.

Since the beginning of this year, Kanggye City of Jagang Province and Sepho County of Kangwon Province are undertaking the projects for expansion of the width of roads, adjustment of roadbeds, masonry and revetment, thus ensuring the flatness and safety of roads.

Meanwhile, Chollima District of Nampho City laid stones along the main roads and Sariwon City of North Hwanghae Province repaired 100-km-long roads.
