Women Take Lead in Supporting Agricultural Field in DPRK

Pyongyang, June 10 (KCNA) -- Women in the DPRK are stepping up the assistance to the agricultural field amid the flames of the all-people offensive for the Conference of Mallima Frontrunners. Organizations and members of the Socialist Women's Union of Korea (SWUK) across the country are helping towards the agricultural work of this year, a year of key importance in implementing the five-year strategy for national economic development, with the shock brigade movement, do-good-thing movement and other mass movements. According to an official concerned, they sent 1.28 million tons of compost and 3.949 millions of small farm implements and farming materials to several thousand farms. And they take thousands of hectares of low-yielding fields in their charge and are doing farm work in a qualitative way. In particular, members of the North and South Hwanghae provincial, Pyongyang City and Janggang County committees of the SWUK take the lead in supporting the agricultural field, a major thrust in the building of an economic giant. |
