S. Korean Authorities Urged to See Mindset of Candlelight Demonstrators

Pyongyang, June 12 (KCNA) -- Government and parliamentary delegations of the U.S. flew into south Korea to press its new ruling quarters over diplomatic and security policies and stand on the deployment of THAAD, etc. Even they urged the south Korean authorities not to repeat "sunshine policy" and "engagement policy" but closely cooperate between both sides. On June 5, the missile defense director of the U.S. Defense Department and the commander of the U.S. imperialist aggressor forces in south Korea visited Chongwadae to stress the reason for the THAAD deployment. Meanwhile, policy study organs and media of the U.S. spread the public opinion that the Trump administration is very displeased with the present south Korean authorities and that serious discord would arise, so as to mentally press south Korea. Commenting on the facts, Rodong Sinmun Monday says: Such moves of the U.S. are a revelation of uneasiness about the fact that obstacles would be laid in the way for implementation of its DPRK policy and strategy for Asia-Pacific domination after the emergence of the new "government" in south Korea as well as of its inveterate repugnancy toward the democratic reformist forces in south Korea. Citing facts to prove that whenever the democratic reformist forces took power in south Korea, the U.S. made desperate efforts to interfere in the internal affairs of south Korea so as to put them under its control, the daily goes on: Now the U.S. is advertising that the major agenda of the U.S.-south Korea summit to be held late in June would be the issue on strengthening the "alliance". The south Korean authorities, fearful of the U.S. arbitrary practice, actively avail themselves of the U.S. anti-DPRK sanctions campaign, talking about contradictory words "carrying out sanctions and dialogue side by side". They expressed the concessive will "not to change the existing decision" over the issue of THAAD deployment. The south Korean authorities should come to their senses, though belatedly. The democratic reformist forces' coming to power in south Korea was an option of the south Korean people who launched candlelight actions to put an end to the crime-woven pro-U.S. conservative regime. The present south Korean authorities have no right to turn aside the mindset of the candlelight demonstrators. |
