Youth and Students Tour Revolutionary Battle Sites in Mt Paektu Area
Hyesan, June 12 (KCNA) -- Youth and students from across the country made a study tour of revolutionary battle sites in the area of Mt Paektu from June 3 to 12 on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the victorious Pochonbo battle commanded by President Kim Il Sung.

They started the study tour from Hyesan. Arriving at historic Pochonbo they went round different places of the battle site.

They attended the candlelight procession and campfire meeting.

They arrived at Samjiyon via the Spring Site in Poso-ri, the Tableland of Junghung from where Mt Paektu was in sight.

Arriving in Samjiyon County, they placed a floral basket and bunches of flowers at the statue of leader Kim Jong Il in the county and paid tribute to him.

Then they went round the Paektusan Hero Youth Power Station.

Atop Mt Paektu the visitors held an oath-taking meeting.

Visiting leader Kim Jong Il's birthplace in the Paektusan Secret Camp they looked round the historic relics preserved there, recalling his revolutionary life.

They went round the headquarters log cabin, the guerrillas quarters, the well used by anti-Japanese war heroine Kim Jong Suk and trees bearing revolutionary slogans written by her.

At the Rimyongsu Revolutionary Site, they learnt in detail about the feats of Kim Jong Il who saw to it that the revolutionary traditions of Mt Paektu would shine as eternal foundation of the Party and the revolution by exploring the way for the study tour of revolutionary battle sites in the area of Mt Paektu.

They also looked round the site of headquarters and slogan-bearing trees at Chongbong and Konchang bivouacs.

During their tour, they conducted diverse political and cultural activities such as a contest of singing revolutionary songs in chorus, meeting for hearing impressions of the reminiscences of anti-Japanese guerrillas and question-and-answer study contest.
