His field guidance on June 15, Juche 86 (1997) was a historic occasion as it brought about an epochal turn in the work of the exhibition house, an important education base in holding fast to the three revolutions--ideological, technological and cultural--which started with the general ideological mobilization movement for nation building, the campaign against illiteracy and the emulation drive for increased production initiated by President Kim Il Sung right after the liberation of the country, as the permanent general line of the Party.

The exhibition house has creditably discharged its mission and duty as a base of ideological education and a base for sci-tech dissemination for the last two decades.

190 sci-tech festivals and exhibitions were held there, including the national science and technology festival, national exhibition of inventions and new technologies and Pyongyang spring and autumn international trade fairs.

In those days the exhibition house was visited by nearly 9.7 millions of people, overseas compatriots and foreigners.
