According to data available at the Ministry of Fisheries, fishery stations along the east and west coastal areas caught over 4 000 more tons of fish as compared with those in the corresponding period of last year.

Fishery stations in the west coastal area, in particular, have made good hauls from late February when the campaign started.

A regular system was established throughout fishery stations under the ministry to inform every fishing boat of seawater temperature, its flow, fishing conditions and others.

The ministry also pays deep attention to supply materials necessary for fishing.

All the fishery stations have upgraded fishing boats and tackles and introduced several rational fishing methods.

Taking the lead in the present fishing campaign are Mundok, Unjon, Nampho and Kamapho fishery stations.

Similar achievements have also been witnessed at fishery stations in the east coastal area.
