National Seminar on Kim Jong Il's Work Held
Pyongyang, June 15 (KCNA) -- A national seminar on leader Kim Jong Il's work "On Preserving the Juche Character and National Character of the Revolution and Construction" took place at the People's Palace of Culture on Thursday.

The work, published on June 19, Juche 86 (1997), clarifies the idea that the Juche character and national character in the revolution and construction means independence and gives exposition of the principled problems arising in preserving them.

The seminar heard papers proving the scientific accuracy, validity and vitality of the work and dealing with the tasks and ways for hastening the final victory of socialism by firmly preserving the Juche character and national character in the revolutionary struggle.

The speakers said that the publication of the work at the time when the imperialists were conducting the frantic anti-socialist offensive was a historic event as it indicated the way for saving socialism from crisis and paving a wide avenue for its victorious advance.

They explained that preserving the Juche character and national character is the basic principle to be maintained in accomplishing the socialist cause.

The idea of preserving the Juche character and national character has fully demonstrated its vitality in building Korean-style socialism dignified with independence, they said, adding: Its validity has been proved in the struggle to build an independent world while smashing the imperialists' moves for domination, subjugation, aggression and interference.

They stressed the need to firmly preserve the Juche character and national character and achieve the final victory of the cause of Juche revolution as early as possible, under the guidance of respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un.

Present at the seminar were officials of central and city party and administrative organs, working people's organizations, scientific, educational, literature and arts and media institutions, party cadres training institutions and the field of preservation of revolutionary relics.
