Celebration Meetings Held Abroad

| Pyongyang, June 16 (KCNA) -- Events took place in different countries on the occasions of the 53rd anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's start of work at the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), the first anniversary of respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un's election as chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and the 17th anniversary of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration. Meetings, book and photo exhibitions and film shows were held in Switzerland, Sweden and Mexico on June 7 and 10. On display at their venues were photos showing the revolutionary exploits of President Kim Il Sung, Kim Jong Il and Kim Jong Un and books and photos introducing the reality of the DPRK. The chairman of the Switzerland-Korea Committee said: Leader Kim Jong Il energetically led the struggle to model the whole Party on President Kim Il Sung's idea while working at the Central Committee of the WPK. He made a great contribution to developing the Party into the staff of revolution which has struck its roots deep into the popular masses. The chairman of the Sweden-Korea Friendship Association said that the DPRK is bolstering up its nuclear deterrence under the leadership of Comrade Kim Jong Un, not yielding to all sorts of moves of the U.S. to stifle it. The chairman of the Mexico-Korea Friendship Association stressed that the army and people of the DPRK are making amazing achievements in all fields under the leadership of Kim Jong Un. Congratulatory messages to Kim Jong Un were adopted at the events in Switzerland and Sweden. |
