U.S. and Japan Kick off Joint Naval Drills
Pyongyang, June 16 (KCNA) -- Warships of the U.S. imperialists and the Japan "Self-Defense Forces" kicked off joint naval drills in the East Sea of Korea from June 3 to 9, according to the south Korean Newsis.

Involved in the exercises were Carl Vinson nuclear-powered carrier task force of the U.S. and light aircraft carrier Fuga and Aegis destroyers of Japan's Maritime SDF.

On June 6, aircraft which took off Carl Vinson had a joint drill with F-15 fighters and E-2C early warning planes of Japan's Air SDF.
