Nigatu Dagnachew Cherinet, co-chairman of the African Regional Preparatory Committee for Gathering 2017-Praise to the Great Persons of Mt Paektu, was elected chairman of the remembrance committee.

The committee set a remembrance period from June 20 to July 11 and decided to organize such events as remembrance meeting, seminar and photo exhibition in praise of the revolutionary career and exploits of the President in the period.
