He made public his famous work "On the Fundamentals of Revolutionary Party Building" in October Juche 81 (1992) when the world socialist cause was in hard time.

In the work, he made clear that in order to accomplish the socialist cause, it is important to firmly defend the purity of the socialist ideology and settle the issue of succession to the leadership in a right way and, to this end, the party should be strengthened.

After its publication, the work received full support from the progressive parties of the world as the "textbook on building a revolutionary party in the era of independence" and "beacon light to the world socialist movement".

Kim Jong Il also authored such famous works as "Abuses of Socialism are Intolerable", "Socialism is a Science" and "Giving Priority to Ideological Work is Essential for Accomplishing Socialism" to indicate the ways to rebuild and develop socialism and build and strengthen a revolutionary party.

Now, his guidelines on building a revolutionary party encourages the progressive mankind in the struggle for defending and advancing the socialist cause, the popular masses' cause of independence, while displaying its validity and vitality.

Therefore, diverse events like seminar, lecture meeting and celebration have taken place in different pars of the world to mark the 53rd anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's start of work at the Central Committee of the WPK in praise of his feats for the world socialist movement.
