Space is wealth common to mankind. Therefore, its peaceful development and use are the legitimate right of a sovereign state recognized by international law, irrespective of size of the country and differences of political view.

The DPRK has paid primary attention to the peaceful use of space, and the space science and research including satellite launch being promoted by the DPRK in recent years according to the state space development plan are making great contribution to the economic development of the country.

All "sanctions resolutions" against the DPRK fabricated by the U.S. and its vassal forces by abusing UNSC are wantonly violating the legitimate right of a sovereign state and universally recognized international law.

The DPRK's stand remains unchanged in totally rejecting the anti-DPRK "sanctions resolutions" as they are unethical ones against civilization aimed to totally deny the Korean people's rights to existence and development and check modern civilization.

Space has faced the potential threat owing to the attempt at militarizing space by some countries who dream to dominate the world, and typical example is the development of the missile defense system being promoted by the U.S.

Space development and use should be oriented to the peaceful purpose, the DPRK delegation said, adding that the international community should check with concerted efforts the reckless attempt at space militarization in order to ensure global peace and security.
