U.S. Plans Joint Naval Drill

Pyongyang, June 22 (KCNA) -- The U.S. imperialist war maniacs are going to stage a joint naval drill in the waters off Jeju Island from June 23 to 25, with the south Korean forces and the Canadian naval forces, according to News 1 of south Korea.

Involved in the drill will be Aegis destroyers, escort warships and other warships of various missions, sea-patrol planes and naval operation copters.

The rehearsal is aimed to increase the capability of sea blockade and offensive operation against the DPRK in case of contingency through drills for joint sea intercepting operation, detecting and tracking ballistic missiles and naval bombardment.
