The statement said:

After starting his work at the WPK Central Committee on June 19, 1964, HE Kim Jong Il had performed great exploits for the Korean people and the world's progressives through his brilliant ideo-theoretical activities and with his unique Songun politics.

He formulated the revolutionary idea of President Kim Il Sung as Kimilsungism and successfully realized the cause of immortalizing the leader.

Under his leadership the DPRK frustrated the imperialists' moves to stifle it with the might of Songun and honorably defended the sovereignty of the country and the dignity of the nation and demonstrated to the whole world its might as a politico-ideological and military power, a satellite manufacturing and launching state and a nuclear weapons state.

All the achievements made in the DPRK would have been unthinkable without the distinguished guidance of HE Kim Jong Il, the great leader.
