Campaign for Watering Croplands Brisk in DPRK

Pyongyang, June 30 (KCNA) -- A campaign for preventing damage from drought is going on in the DPRK. Recently, committees, ministries and national institutions and industrial establishments in Pyongyang City sent hundreds of water-supply vehicles and pumping equipment to South Hwanghae Province, a granary of the country.

Hundreds hectares of paddy fields are irrigated by water-supply vehicles, mobile water pumps, sprayers, etc. on a daily average.

Taking the lead in this campaign are officials and working people of the State Planning Commission, the State Commission of Quality Management, the Rungnado and Kyonghung guidance bureaus, the Ministry of Mining Industry, the Ministry of Food Procurement and Administration and the General Bureau for Affairs with Diplomatic Corps.
