Big Stride Made in Improving Evodia Daniellii in DPRK

Pyongyang, June 30 (KCNA) -- A big stride has been made in improving Evodia daniellii in the DPRK. According to Ri Hyon Song, director of the Economic Forest Institute under the Academy of Forest Science, ten cities and counties have finished grafting high-yielding branches in nearly 2 000 hectares of Evodia daniellii forests. The Evodia daniellii forest station in Sohung County, North Hwanghae Province secured several tons of seeds and supplied myriads of high-yielding scions to the Evodia daniellii forest stations across the country, he said, adding: Cities and counties in North Phyongan Province have created high-yielding Evodia daniellii forests and nipped off extra sprouts and trimmed the branches in a scientific way. Meanwhile, South Hamgyong and South Phyongan provinces have also ameliorated a large number of Evodia daniellii. |
