Gyula Thurmer, chairman of the Hungarian Workers' Party, was elected chairman of the above-said committee.

The committee decided to give wide publicity to the exploits of the President through media and hold political and cultural events including a remembrance meeting, a lecture meeting and a film show on the occasion of the 23rd anniversary of his demise.
