Victor Manuel Lucas, international secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the People of Spain, was elected chairman of the remembrance committee.

The committee set a remembrance period from June 21 to July 11 and decided to organize a remembrance meeting, seminar, film show and other political and cultural events to praise the revolutionary career and exploits of the President.
