Campaign for Preventing Drought Damage Goes on in South, North Hwanghae Provinces of DPRK
Pyongyang, July 5 (KCNA) -- The campaign for preventing drought damage is going on in North and South Hwanghae provinces, the DPRK.

According to the information at the State Hydro-meteorological Administration, it rained in the whole areas of the country on July 2 and 3, but the precipitations of North and South Hwanghae provinces were 59 mm and 19 mm respectively.

The campaign for preventing drought damage is being pushed forward in the countryside of the provinces.

The Naedong Cooperative Farm in Kangryong County, South Hwanghae Province dug 67 wells and 36 water holes and is keeping full operation of irrigation facilities, including sprinklers and water pumps.

Yonan County built 550 wells, 283 water holes, 9 underground reservoirs and 78 dammed pools.

North Hwanghae Province has mobilized all vehicles to transport water.

And a new watering method invented by the Ryonggung Cooperative Farm in Hwangju County of the province has been introduced into the farms of the province.

At least 320 wells, water holes, tube-wells, reservoirs and dammed pools were restored or newly built in 16 farms, including the Okchon and Chonghak cooperative farms in Phyongsan County.
