Mikhail Panchenko, general secretary of the International Alliance of Societies for the Study of the Juche Idea and Songun Policy in East European and Central Asian Regions, was elected chairman of the committee.

The committee decided to give wide publicity to the President's revolutionary career and exploits through media and hold political and cultural events on the occasion of the 23rd anniversary of his demise.
