Newspapers Komsomolskaya Pravda and Tsumenskaya Pravda carried such articles as "Comrade Kim Jong Il's undying feats for party-building" illustrated with portraits of his smiling image.

They noted in detail that Kim Jong Il set it as the most important task to develop the WPK into the party of President Kim Il Sung, its founder, and successfully carried it out and that he strengthened the Party into an ideological pure entity, an integral organization and an entity which achieved the unity of actions.

Thanks to his leadership, the WPK could display its might as an invincible party which victoriously advances the cause of socialism under the absolute support and trust from the popular masses, they said, stressing that his feats would shine forever along with the eternal prosperity of socialist Korea.

Paper Zavtra, in an article "General Kim Jong Il, son of Mt Paektu", elaborated on the facts that Kim Jong Il had led the DPRK-U.S. standoff always to victory with his pluck and guts as a brilliant commander.

Zebri Deve, an online paper of Khabarovsk Territory, carried an article dealing with the history of his party leadership.
