Minju Joson Slams U.S. Moves to Establish Military Domination in Asia-Pacific Region

Pyongyang, July 6 (KCNA) -- The United States scheduled to finish naval test operation of newly-made super-large nuclear carrier Gerald R. Ford and put it in commission in the Norfolk naval base in Virginia State in July. The total expense of the carrier amounts to 13 billion U.S. dollars. Minju Joson Thursday in a commentary says that it is not hard to guess what the U.S. seeks in establishing military domination in the Asia-Pacific region through the building of the carrier with such huge investment. The U.S. greatest concern is to control Asia and Pacific, the commentary says, adding: That is why it is intensifying political, economic and military infiltration into this region, viewing it as the region on which its future interest hinges. In recent years, the U.S. steadily introduced its strategic assets into the Korean peninsula and its vicinity under the pretext of the "nuclear and missile threat" from the north. This is related to the sinister intention to maintain its hegemony in the Asia-Pacific region. If the situation in the Asia-Pacific region including Northeast Asia is escalated and driven into the phase out of control, the U.S. will be held wholly accountable for all ensuing consequences. |
