On July 6, the warmongers staged joint live shell firing exercises in the East Sea of Korea with warships and fighters of various missions of the navy and air force--a "demonstration" of the capability for precision strikes at major targets of the DPRK.

They said that it was a "military counteraction" against the test-fire of ICBM by the north.

On July 5 they conducted a drill of launching ballistic missiles in the East Sea of Korea with U.S. imperialist aggression forces.

Against this backdrop, U.S. and south Korean marine forces staged military drills such as carrying out the task after the landing in Phohang, North Kyongsang Province.
