U.S. Anachronistic Policy towards DPRK Slammed
Pyongyang, July 12 (KCNA) -- Minju Joson Wednesday warns in a commentary that the Trump administration will never settle the nuclear issue on the Korean peninsula with its anachronistic policy towards the DPRK but further endanger the U.S.

The commentary refers to the fact that former high-ranking officials and experts on the Korean affairs in the U.S. and other countries are expressing their strong doubts about the Trump administration's policy towards the DPRK and urging it to correct its policy, though belatedly.

Nearly six months have passed since the Trump administration appeared but it is now faced with the serious political crisis. This is attributable to its persistent, arrogant and self-righteous way of thinking, the commentary notes, and goes on:

When the Trump administration emerged, many analysts and experts on the Korean affairs in the world strongly urged it to be prudent in shaping its policy towards the DPRK and not to follow its preceding administrations' failures.

However, it made a great political mistake of applying the old way of thinking in which it handles international issues with strength to the settlement of the Korean affairs while talking about "peace by strength", far from making sincere efforts to draw a lesson in the past.

As a result, the U.S. strategy for stifling the DPRK only resulted in ranking itself among nuclear powers.

The Trump administration would be well advised to make a switchover in shaping its policy towards the DPRK, though belatedly, rather than following the dangerous road of inviting miserable consequences, the commentary concludes.
