Tanchon Power Station under Construction in DPRK
Pyongyang, July 13 (KCNA) -- The construction of the Tanchon Power Station, the largest counter flow change power station in the DPRK, progresses apace.

Its construction is a grand nature-remaking project that requires the tunneling of a hundreds kilometers-long waterway through mountain ranges in the northern part of the country and building of main dams and power stations to make effective use of rivers and streams, including the Jangjin and Hochon rivers and Karim Stream.

Four power stations will be built along the main waterway, while others produce electricity by harnessing waterfalls drawn from medium and small rivers.

Respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un in his report made at the historic Seventh Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea set forth the task to build the large-scale Tanchon Power Station as soon as possible, and indicated the ways of completing the project on several occasions.
