It was co-sponsored by the African regional preparatory committee and Nigerian preparatory committee for the Gathering 2017-Praise to the Great Persons of Mt Paektu and the African Regional Committee for Friendship and Solidarity with the Korean People.

Present at the workshop were personages and staff members of the international preparatory committee and regional and national preparatory committees for the Gathering 2017-Praise to the Great Persons of Mt Paektu and political parties, organizations and organizations for the study of the Juche idea in Benin, Ethiopia, DR Congo, Guinea and other countries.

Introduced there were letters of solidarity sent by the Asia-Pacific regional, Ocean regional and national preparatory committees for the Gathering 2017-Praise to the Great Persons of Mt Paektu and organizations of various countries.

A keynote report and speeches were made there.

Damian Ogbonna, co-chairman of the international preparatory committee for the Gathering 2017-Praise to the Great Persons of Mt Paektu, in his keynote report praised President Kim Il Sung for leading the Korean revolution and the global cause of independence to victory by applying the Juche idea and lauded leader Kim Jong Il for firmly defending the country's sovereignty and dignity and making a great contribution to ensuring world peace and security.

He said that the theories and methods on revolution and construction set forth and implemented by Kim Il Sung during the whole historic course of the Korean revolution serve as the textbook of struggle to be followed by every country and nation aspiring after freedom and liberation.

He stressed that the Gathering 2017-Praise to the Great Persons of Mt Paektu which is to be held in August with splendor will demonstrate the aspiration and desire of the world progressives to hold Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il in high esteem as the eternal sun and respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un as the sun leading the human cause of independence to victory in the 21st century.

Speeches were made by Dagnachew Cherinet, co-chairman of the African regional preparatory committee for the Gathering 2017-Praise to the Great Persons of Mt Paektu, Ibrahim Mantu, chairman of the Nigeria-Korea Friendship Association, Hessou Kohovi, chairman of the Benin－Korea Amicable Association "Long Live Kim Jong Il, Supreme Leader", and others.

Speakers appealed to the progressives to hold Kim Jong Un in high esteem, saying that his august name is shining as the symbol of peace, justice, dignity and progress.

A letter to Kim Jong Un was adopted at the workshop.
