Pyongyang, July 24 (KCNA) -- 1.72 million working people from all walks of life, school youth and children, overseas Koreans and foreigners have visited the newly-built Natural History Museum and the remodeled Central Zoo located at the foot of Mt Taesong in Pyongyang, the DPRK for the past one year since their opening.

The Nature History Museum is a scientific knowledge dissemination complex based on the principles of scientific accuracy, utility and kindness.

At the museum, more than 31,000 exhibits of over 3,800 kinds are on display in a scientific and aesthetic way to help visitors acquire knowledge about nature.

The Central Zoo housing 40-odd animal sheds and theatres for animal stunts are always crowded with visitors.

In the past one year, the zoo has made a number of achievements like the establishment of a system for producing vitamin solution to improve the nutrition of animals and construction of a base for producing artificial sea salt to cultivate sea-fish.

It also succeeded in breeding neontetra, manufactured a machine for hatching birds' and reptiles' eggs and established a bulking food production system.

Thanks to the successful scientific research into breeding animals, hundreds of animals have been reproduced at the zoo.
