During the visit, the ambassador paid a courtesy call on Sin Hong Chol, vice-minister of Foreign Affairs of the DPRK and met with the general director for North American Affairs of the Foreign Ministry to exchange views on the situation of the Korean peninsula.

The DPRK side clarified the principled stand that unless the U.S., which is chiefly to blame for the escalated tension on the Korean peninsula, fundamentally terminates its hostile policy and nuclear threat to the DPRK, the latter would never put its nukes and ballistic missiles on the negotiating table but keep to the road of bolstering up the nuclear force chosen by itself.

Taking note of such attitude, the Russian side expressed the stand to keep in close touch with the DPRK side and strive for the stability of the peninsula.
