Present there were Hwang Pyong So, Ri Myong Su, Pak Yong Sik and other commanding officers of the KPA, officers and men of the Army, the Navy and the Air and Anti-Air Force and cadets of the military academies at all levels.

KPA Vice Marshal Hwang Pyong So, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the C.C., Workers' Party of Korea, vice-chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and director of the KPA General Political Bureau, made an address at the meeting.

He said that the victory in the Fatherland Liberation War was a brilliant one brought about by the Juche-oriented military idea, outstanding strategy and tactics and rare commanding art of Generalissimo Kim Il Sung and a proud one won by dint of ardent patriotism and indomitable fighting spirit of the Korean army and people closely rallied around the Party and the leader.

He referred to the fact that Generalissimo Kim Jong Il had provided the powerful political and military guarantee for the decisive victory in the sacred war against the U.S. with his Songun revolutionary leadership for more than half a century and turned the DPRK into a political and military power and a full-fledged nuclear weapons state and space power.

He noted that the history and tradition of the great Kim Il Sung's nation and Kim Jong Il's Korea in which they won only victories in the wars against imperialism and the U.S. is being steadily carried forward under the guidance of respected Supreme Commander Kim Jong Un.

He called for waging more dynamic struggle to add shine to the history of great victory in the war generation after generation and bring July 27 of final victory as early as possible.

Major Army General Jon Il, Rear Admiral Jang Chol Guk and Major Air General Ho Ryong made pledge speeches on behalf of the service personnel of the three services of the KPA.

They vowed to carry forward the proud tradition of victory of Songun Korea with the arms of Paektusan.
