Each sanatorium has a total floor space of several thousand square meters, housing service facilities like rooms for therapy and fitness and barber's and pavilion, angling site and other resting places.

War veterans enjoy cultural and emotional life at those sanatoriums built under the loving care of the Workers' Party of Korea.

In the DPRK, they are revered as the precious treasure of the country and held in high esteem as the generation who won the victory in the war.

Respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un has put them forward as laudable heroes and genuine patriots of the nation.

He took a measure to make it a tradition to significantly celebrate the war victory day (July 27) every year, noting that he respects and values war veterans as his grandfathers and fathers. And he enjoyed an art performance together with war veterans, who participated in the celebrations for the war victory day, and had a photo session with them.

He gave energetic guidance to the projects for remodeling the Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum and building the Fatherland Liberation War Martyrs Cemetery.

And he personally initiated the construction of sanatoriums for war veterans, indicated orientation and ways for their construction and took all necessary measures to perfect them.
