The championships started in Katmandu of Nepal from July 24, bringing together more than 230 men and women players from at least 20 countries and regions including the DPRK, Thailand and Kazakhstan.

Kang Hyon Gyong placed first in snatch and jerk in the junior women's 58 kg category. She snatched 95 kg and jerked 117 kg, 212 kg in total.
