U.S. Should Not Forget Lesson from Korean War: Russian Papers

Pyongyang, August 2 (KCNA) -- Russian newspapers featured the 64th anniversary of the Korean people's victory in the great Fatherland Liberation War from July 24 to 27. Komsomolskaya Pravda carried articles such as "V-Day, July 27" and "How could the DPRK win victories in the showdown with the U.S.?" illustrated with art works depicting the images of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il. The articles gave detailed accounts of the fact that under the leadership of President Kim Il Sung the Korean army and people could defend the freedom and independence of the country by defeating the U.S. imperialists boasting of being the "strongest" in the world and about its "victory". In an article titled "Why should the U.S. reexamine its way of thinking of the DPRK?" the paper said: The U.S. posed nuclear threat to the DPRK in the past, but today the latter is pressurizing the former with tremendous military muscle. It is the unanimous opinion of the international community that the longer the rulers of the U.S. stick to the hostile policy toward the DPRK, the stronger the latter's nuclear deterrent will grow. Zavtra in articles such as "Essence of the Korean War" and "The U.S. should not forget the lesson from the Korean War" noted that the U.S. imperialists ignited a war against the young DPRK and hurled huge forces into it, but suffered big losses and a bitter defeat along with a series of setbacks sustained by its generals. It also cited confessions made by U.S. brass hats on the fact that the U.S. made a false show of force and the myth of its "mightiness" was smashed to pieces in the Korean War. |
