The statement said:

Under the leadership of President Kim Il Sung, a gifted military strategist, the Korean people won a great victory in the Fatherland Liberation War by defeating the U.S.-led imperialist allied forces.

The U.S. hurled huge forces into the Korean War, but couldn't bring the Korean people to submission.

The Korean people honorably defended the independence and sovereignty of the country and the U.S. imperialists suffered the disgraceful crushing defeat for the first time in history.

In a bid to recover from the defeat it suffered in Korea, the U.S. is still stationing its troops in south Korea and committing ceaseless military provocations while persistently refusing to conclude a peace accord with the DPRK.

We demand that the U.S. withdraw its aggression forces from the Korean peninsula, stop all sorts of provocation and threat and conclude a peace treaty with the DPRK.
