Ibrahim Mantu, member of the Credit Committee of the People's Democratic Party of Nigeria and chairman of the Nigeria-Korea Friendship Association, at an inaugural ceremony of the committee for revering the peerlessly great persons of Mt Paektu held in Abuja on August 5, said:

President Kim Il Sung always found himself among the people, throwing in his lot with them.

The U.S. claimed it was impossible for the DPRK to rise on its feet within a hundred years after the Korean War, but the Korean people completed reconstruction in three years and accomplished the historic task of industrialization in a brief span of fourteen years, firmly united around their leader.

Alhassan Mamman Muhammad, chairman of the Nigerian National Committee for the Study of Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism, noted that Kim Jong Il bolstered the country's defense capabilities in every way under the uplifted banner of Songun to cope with the moves of the imperialist allied forces to stifle the DPRK. Kim Jong Il prevented a war on the Korean peninsula, defended the destiny of the Korean nation and put the position of the DPRK onto the highest level with his outstanding leadership, he added.
